I like to think Carlos talks about Cecil a lot to the giant masked army (when he’s not busy sciencing, that is)

As creators of a Giant Wooden Pencil (that actually writes) we love this awesome HB Lamp created by London-based design team Michael & George. The six-foot-tall, handmade pencil lamp features a 33-foot-long cord emerging from the tip of the pencil, which enables users to make it appear as though they’ve scribbled all over the room (and even the walls if you’re clever with a few small hooks).

They say, “our hope is to inspire light bulb moments within everyone who comes in to contact with the ‘HB Lamp’ (just as the traditional HB pencil has been the conduit to so many light bulb moments throughout history.)”

This delightful device is the first piece ins Michael & George’s new series of Stationery Objects, which sees them turning everyday office supplies into playful, yet useful design pieces. The duo also created a Mini HB Lamp (bottom photo), which stands 40 cm (15 in) tall.

Michael & George will be showing off their HB Lamp with an installation at this year’s London Design Festival on September 12, 2014.

I want one…

regourso:

I’ve realized I haven’t drawn anything related to my own projects for more than a month and it’s driving me mad, so I’m going to do a quick drawing/painting every day related to either my upcoming comic project or our group’s shared fantasy homebrew setting.
This is Verdandi, the middle one of three giant sisters called the Norns. They are based on the mythological trio of the same name, however they do not decide the fate of men and gods like in Norse legend, they can instead ‘see’ the Multiverse without time when they combine their particular talents. Verdandi is able to witness any and all events currently unfolding in the Universe regardless of distance. Her job is to call which of the potential variable futures her younger sister Skuld sees actually happens, so that it can be chronicled and archived by their older sister Urdr, whom has perfect recall of every event in the history of life in the Universe (this particular one, anyway). They reside in a wandering asteroid called The Well of Fate, upon which their Hall is built.
Out of the three, Verdandi is the one most concerned with mortals and usually the one who talks to those powerful or resourceful enough to reach the asteroid, most likely seeking knowledge. It is said for every possible Universe there are three Norns, and that they gather periodically to compare their differing records and accounts of events.
